The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) at its 19th Policy meeting has approved the national cutoff mark for public and private Universities for the 2019/2020 admission exercise.
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and higher tertiary institutions in Nigeria on Tuesday, 11th June, has approved the minimum cutoff mark for admission in the 2019/2020 academic session.
JAMB Cutoff Mark for Public and Private Universities
At the 19th Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria which was held on Tuesday, 11th June, has approved 160 and above as the national minimum benchmark for admission into public universities for the 2019/2020 Admission exercise.
At the policy making meeting, 140 score and above was approved as minimum UTME score for admission into private universities.

Note: Although the cutoff mark has been pegged at 160 for public universities and 140 for private universities, some Institution has the sole right to pick their cutoffs. Schools like University of Benin (UNIBEN), University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) and University of Lagos (UNILAG) will definitely be choosing their preferred cutoff marks for admission.
